Chained to my computer...

As I spend yet another hour at my computer, breaking every posture rule recently taught regarding teeth clenching, I regret my good intentions.

I’m sorting through photos taken during school-year events. The pictures are wonderful—heartwarming, funny—but there are far too many of them. I promised my preschool families individual photo CD's, and insanely sorted them by student. Next year, every family gets every school picture I take, whether they know the subjects or not.

Now, I’m putting together a video, guaranteed to reduce even stoic parents to puddles of emotion, but presently, it’s reducing me to tears of frustration.

I know J. will save the day when he returns from his trip, but I’d hoped to impress him with my ability…sigh… He’ll spend minutes correcting my hours of production—I’ll grit my teeth and thank him profusely. I suppose, when he leaves home in September, he’ll try billing me for computer help. Of course, I’ll trump him with the story of his medicine-free birth—guilt will override free enterprise. Am I resourceful, or what?

Ugh, I’ve stalled long enough—I have to get this done before my preschool students graduate high school… Did I mention being less magnanimous next year? Please remind me of that fact in September, when I’m excited about starting a new year and overestimating my time and energy potentials…

Glaciers are fascinating. One moment calm and seemingly inactive, then suddenly violently changing. Venture too close at the wrong time and you're toast. Photos cannot begin to capture their power. Yet they are also fragile, worldwide being reduced to dust by the lowly carbon atom.

If I knew how to post your comment to "The Price of Convenience" I would. Your analogy is powerful--I appreciate your thoughts and writing skill...
