The process--not the point--matters

Do the things we enjoy have to make sense to others? I don’t think so, as long as we’re not hurting anyone.

Take blogging for instance, I love it—I can’t explain all the reasons why…I just do. I think my thoughts are valid, I may actually possess a little wisdom, but that’s not the point.

The point is…there doesn’t have to be a point—I blog because it makes me smile. I hope it makes a few others smile, maybe it will provide someone with a different point of view...if it doesn’t, that’s ok too.

It’s too easy to dismiss something because it doesn’t have direct meaning for us. The more we open our minds, the more we learn…you can’t beat that. As a parent, I’ve repeated this message many times to my children.

I think you truly understand the world when you open your mind to others’ thoughts and opinions. You may not agree with them…just acknowledge they exist. Chances are, they’re valid in the context of a life you can’t imagine…

Enjoy the day…there are no ordinary moments :)
